install the .deb file that user Alexander S. Gryanko posted at post #155 here
    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...ux/+bug/582809
this file fixes the right clic and multitouch still works...
but drag n drop doesn't work at all....

Sure, it is the one from David in post #144 only. But here are the steps from him below.

A tarball of the patches is here (they are as similar to the SuSE patches as possible, 212-fixups.patch contains the additions to make the result compile cleanly):
    http://david.hardeman.nu/synaptics-suse-patches.tar.bz2

To build your own xserver-xorg-input-synaptics package, do:

    mkdir tmpbuild
    cd tmpbuild
    wget http://david.hardeman.nu/synaptics-suse-patches.tar.bz2
    apt-get source xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
    cd xserver-xorg-input-synaptics-<version>
    cd debian
    cd patches
    tar xfvj ../../../synaptics-suse-patches.tar.bz2
    ls -1 2*.patch >> series
    cd ..
    cd ..
    sudo apt-get build-dep xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
    dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc -rfakeroot
    sudo dpkg -i ../xserver-xorg-input-synaptics_<version>_<arch>.deb

And then restart your X server
I actually skipped the last step since I built is on a second computer but I just copied my i386 .DEB on a memory stick to my Netbook, uninstalled current Synaptics Xorg driver from Synatic Package Manager.

Next I installed my new .DEB by just clicking on it and letting Get Software install it. Just ignore the warning.

If all goes wrong just reinstall original Xorg driver from Synaptic again.

This was a perfect step by step for me. I am running 11.04 Desktop 32 bit on an HP 2102 (same as 210). I cannot vouch for others. I would post my .DEB but I do not have a way to do that.

Edit: One other comment, I had put some fixes in the /usr/share/X11/xord.d directory like I did for 10.10. I had to remove all these because they conflicted with the new driver.

That was a x64 version so I could not use it so cannot vouch whether it works for the Mini.

Have you tried just building your own? Took me only about 15 minutes to go through the steps.

Do you have a launchpad account? You could post it to your PPA

I just registered there so I could reply but I do not know much about it. I will check it out and see if I can figure out how to post it.

Re: HP Mini 210 touchpad right click not working

I messed around with Launchpad too long. Some day when I have a bunch of extra time I will try it again.

Not sure what rules I am violating but I just gziped the deb and attached it here.

    Just use gzip -d <file name>

Note if you save the .gz to directory of its own you can type "gzip -d x" then hit the tab key and it will fill in the rest.

I make not warranties express or implied. I compiled this from the post I listed above and it works on an HP Mini 2102 should work fine on a 210 as well. Not sure about any other model or make.

    Good luck.

Note: Please read my previous post but this is only tested on 11.04.

this is amazing, thanks!!! only thing that still misfires is that selecting / dragging doesn't work when two-finger-scroll is enabled, because when one finger pushes left button and other finger moves, it's regarded as scrolling. nevertheless, this fix was just what i needed!

edit: this two-finger-scrolling / selecting problem could be fixed if the button-part of the touchpad would no longer be regarded as part of the touchpad but just as buttons, right? would that be a possibility, to just disable the bottom centimeter for all input except clicking of the buttons? just letting the mind run wild here, it's a longshot...
