Oh
I'm using Firefox 3.6 here on Debian Lenny 5.0.3, it looks and feels like Firefox. I neither like it better nor less than I ever have. Works a treat for browsing the internet![]()
I have heard there are plans to upgrade Firefox to version 3.6 in Ubuntu 9.10, but it may take a few week due to changes needed in the language packs.
PLEASE be careful and thinking about random deb files for Firefox 3.6. They maybe be poorly built or even malicious and really screw up your Ubuntu install.

There is three options to (easily) install Firefox 3.6 on Ubuntu currently:
32-bit only builds:
- Download directly from Mozilla's site. This is just an archive with Firefox it, and it should run with a simple double click.
- Use this repository: http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawik...itle=Main_Page (it can be installed with copy/pasting a few commands)
32-bit or 64-bit:
- http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php...3&postcount=14 (note the underline)
- Wait till Ubuntu 10.04 is released.(Unless the Ubuntu team decides to officially backport 3.6 to Karmic)
----
The "hard" way would be to apt-get source firefox, replace all the Firefox 3.5 source code in the source package with Firefox 3.6 sources, and rebuild it with debuild
If that will actually work.![]()
