    How would I...? Automatic Torrent Downloading

    Now that I have a handle on virtual box and some other nifty tools in Ubuntu, I'd like to switch to using it as my primary OS. Really the only thing keeping me from doing this sooner was automatic torrent downloading.

    How do you guys do this? In Windows, I have µTorrent setup to download my favorite shows automatically (via RSS) and I'd like to know the easiest way to do this in Linux. I know that you can run µTorrent with wine so would that be the easiest way to accomplish my goal? I do rather like Transmission... I still haven't figured out how to get it to update my block lists automatically but that's not really a primary concern at this point.

    Perhaps there's a program I can use in conjunction with Transmission that could perform the same task of automatically downloading from RSS feeds?

    Thank you for any tips/advice you can give me =D

    qbittorrent can do this very easily.

    if you search transmission's website, they should support RSS downloading as well.

    There is no need to run uTorrent in wine or anything like that.

    I also use torrentflux and it supports RSS as well.

    Have you tried gpodder? This application downloads podcasts automatically.

    Podcasts=gpodder
    RSS feeds=liferea

    Both are in the ubuntu repositories.

    Re: How would I...? Automatic Torrent Downloading

    I was giving qbittorrent a try but I was curious, does anybody know the syntax for the RSS exclusions? I was able to add an RSS channel just fine but I can't seem to make it automatically download anything from that channel, even simple things like "display1".

    Now, with Virtualbox running uTorrent, could I save the files to my home directory or would the downloaded files have to be saved within that operating systems virtual hd?
