Gimp 2.6

Hey, I have karmic installed. I am running GIMP 2.6.7, it was mind understanding that GIMP 2.6> had the ability to appear all in one window, removing the layers & toolbox windows.

I was told 2.6 opened like this automaticly... mine does not and I can't see any way to make gimp open in one window.


Could anyone please advise.

That's actually gimp 2.7 that you're talking about. You'll have to get the development version repo. It was nice but too unstable for normal use for me.

I am not sure that it is really all one window.
have a look at the release notes here:

the pictures there are the same as my 2.6.4 on this windows machine. There are still "floating" docks for the toolbox and other things.

oh ok, thankyou. I will have to wait and see if it comes out in 10.04
