    No MP3 Encoder

    Hello,

I am experiencing a problem with sound converter. It is reporting that no MP3 encoder is present. Consequently I can not set the output format to mp3. Checking synaptic indicates that lame is installed. Sound converter also provides this link to install an mp3 encoder. Sadly the Ubuntu link does not appear to do anything.

    Any help and advice appreciated,

Have you installed 'ubuntu-restricted-extras' using synaptics?

Ah, well the link didn't work however I was able to find the ugly set in synaptic. I can now convert to mp3.

Thank you for your help with this matter.

Actually no, I thought I had installed it already. Haha. That certainly explains a lot.

    Thanks Bucky Ball
