Advice for new computer with Linux

    Hello
I want to buy a new computer.
I had a look at this motherboard. I will play movies HD.

    ASUS M3N78-VM

I was wondering if kernel 2.6.30 will supported it fine.

AUDIO: VT1708B 8 Canales High Definition Audio CODEC
VIDEO: Integreted NVIDIA GeForce® 8 Series GPU
Network: NVIDIA nForce integreted Gigabit MAC with RTL8211CL-GR
    CHIPSET: GeForce 8200 .

Any idea if all these component of this motherboard is OK for Linux and kernel 2.6.30?

You can check with virutally any search engine (search term- ":Asus M3N78-VM linux") You likely to get results like this one-

    http://www.ubuntuhcl.org/browse/prod...n78-vm?id=6451

Or, you can check with the 'Desktop Hardware Compatibility List' here. Where you might find posts like this-

    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...VM#post7885155

Or, you can check each component on the motherboard by search engine or on the Desktop Hardware Compatibility List.
