For a native linux client as the best alternative to lightroom, use lightzone. Its awesome.

Don't bother with crap like raw therapee. Its not professional standard. Has potential, but is pretty much unusable for pro use as it is.

Lightzone has one of the best lightmapping and light correction tools available on any app. Its up there with control points in capture NX. Its that good.

Another bump for Bibble 5. Even the beta was damn fast. It has a native linux client but it's not free in either sense. Still, I dont mind paying for quality apps and this is one of them.

Also, if you get the pro version, your registration will work for both windows and linux versions.

It's still quite a bit cheaper than Lightzone.

serviceproz No, it will not run. But you could use GIMP or F-Spot.

Just checked the lightzone screen shot on google images. It looks quiet familiar with Lightroom.
Planning to install ubuntu today on my system. As i do work on lightroom so i am searching for alternate for this. Will do it today.

Lightzone has been open-sourced and is free these days.

    Have a look at darktable.

Unsettings - configuration program for the Unity
Privacy Indicator - easily switch privacy settings in Unity
Arronax - create and modify app starters

I'm not familiar with Lightroom, but I do my Raw processing using UFRaw attached to Gimp.
