Problem installing driver for wireless card

I recently installed ubuntu 9.10 and I have spent the last week trying to get the wireless network card working on that computer. I have a Broadcom BCM4311 8
802.11b/g WLAN card, and I know the problem is with the driver, and that wouldn't be a problem except that the only internet access I have on that computer is wireless. I have another computer with access to the internet, and I have tried installing ndiswrapper and the driver that way, but I can't get it to work.

    Please help

    Thank you very much
