    sudo modprobe asus_nvidia

you probably meant sudo modprobe nvidia_g210m_acpi,
does it disable nvidia g210 or enable?

because actually what I want it's enable nvidia based video card, because I can't watch HD movies (1080p) it like slide show, though when I watch it in windows (I have dual boot) everything ok

    Works fine on 10.04.
i just got my g210m to work on ubuntu 9.10 on a asus ul30vt.
checking the status on 10.04. will be back with a simple howto soon.

    UPDATE:

to get the nvidia card to work you have to do this:

this is how you get g210m to work on ubuntu 9.10 / 10.04.

    1. download and install nvidia drivers. (i have only tested the ones in the repos)

    2. make sure you got an Xorg.conf that is correct. ( if not, run nvidia-xconfig )

    3. reboot into bios (press delete while booting)

    4. change the SATA option in the bios from enhanced to compatibility. ( yea, this makes sense? NOT! )

    5. boot into linux and smile!

    Hey Dakilla,

    This sounds promising!
Did you use the proprietary drivers or Nouveou?

    Thanks for letting us know,

I always get a black screen after this command
    sudo modprobe nvidia_g210m_acpi

    I have UL30VT-A1 with Ubuntu 10.04 - 64 bits
Could someone please tell me what's wrong?

I can confirm that this fix worked for my UL30VT-A1.

One point of clarification is that booting into the BIOS requires holding F2, not Delete.

Just tried the sata-compatability fix with a UL-50VT.
Was able to get to the login screen, but upon logging in, the screen froze up, turned into a jumble of boxes, and saw occasional snow. I have not overclocked the card in any way.
