Any tools available to scan my Music folder for untagged tracks?

    As per title.

Made a bit if an error recently by using an old version of grip which I hadn't configured properly.

Result = quite a few CDs not tagged, but not really sure how many or which ones. Is there any easy method to search for untagged files?

Not sure if it's the best way, but loading the entire folder to ryhthymbox and searching for "unknown" in the album field seems to do the job.

I use Kid3 for ID tagging and although I haven't tried this there is an import/export function where the entire list of tracks & tags can be exported into a .csv file.

I assume the tags can be corrected in the spreadsheet and then imported back into Kid3.

According to Kid3's handbook, tag info can also be imported from various music databases.

Kid3 is in the Software Centre.

    All the best, Dave.

    Cheers Dave.

I use musicbrainz picard for tagging, but I'm always open to trying different software.

And I'll probably take at look at Picard too.

I haven't yet found an ID-tag program quite as good/easy as the one I used in Windows called MP3Tag

    Cheers

Kid3 is brilliant for this, kid3 uses KDE libraries, so for GNOME desktop install Kid3-qt. This way for people like me i don't have to install any kde libraries.
The only real difference is the loading time, if you are using gnome desktop loading kde libraries takes a little while to load but once loaded no problems.
This is one really easy program to use.
You will find Kid3-qt in the "Synaptic Package Manager".

    Hope this helps.
