Re: GRUB- error: no such partition grub rescue>

I am trying to install ubuntu 9.1 on my USB Stick 4GB using a live CD
The install goes through no problems...(I delete all partitions on drive and let the installer partition it in default).
But when I boot from the USB Stick I get an error.
    GRUB loading.
error: no partition on this disk
    Grub rescue >

can someone help me with this please I am completely new to ubuntu... I don't have hard drive on this computer just a standard dvd and my USB Stick.

boot the Live CD with the USB disk plugged in. Select "try ubuntu without any changes." When the desktop loads do this:

    1. Download the boot info script. There is a link in my signature.
    2. Once downloaded move the boot info script to the desktop.
    3. Open a terminal and run the command
    Code:
    sudo bash ~/Desktop/boot_info_script*.sh
This will create a RESULTS.txt file on the desktop. Paste the entire contents of that file back here. Once pasted highlight all text and click the # sign on the toolbar to place code tags around the text.

See here for more info on the boot info script.

Above link is to meierfra's Sourceforge web page.

Unhappy Re: GRUB- error: no such partition grub rescue>

I recently tried giving ubuntu extra space in my hard drive taking it away from vista using Partition Manager... but the result was that I ended up at

I need help since a lot of data from my research is in the computer and although half is already backed up I need the rest.

I ran the bash file and got this:
