DV8000 - Hardy 8.04.3, Jaunty 9.04, Karmic 9.10

I use this DV8000 for XP needs, otherwise I'm a happy 8.04 LTS user on my desktops and a Dell Vostro 14.

Last night I thought I would try each of the above live CD's on the DV. All installed and functioned fully on wired network. The exception was wireless on Karmic & Jaunty. This DV has the broadcom chip and an AMD processor. All three installs alerted me that a restricted wireless 43xx driver was available. I downloaded for all three installs but, interestingly, only on Hardy did the wireless come alive and function normally.

I was looking forward to Lucid 10.04 but now with an eye of caution and wonder.

its LTS, it will be great and i also run 804 on a DV6000, its rock solid...

Tried 9.10 Karmic on a DV9200...worked out of the box, wireless and all.
