hi
i installed ubuntu hardy for my uncle's laptop. it uses ATI AXP AC97
for sound card. there is no sound when desktop starts. but in the
login screen i heard "tam-tam-tam"(this is a login page sound.) thats
all normal i installed all codecs for movie and audio. when i started
to play mp3 or mpg, it starts and goes very slowly. but i didn't hear
anything.

help me please
