    Using Cheese for YouTube vids

    Hi guys, I'm a relatively new Ubuntu user, I've got 9.10 installed

    Anyways, I wanted to record some web cam vids for upload to my YouTube channel (and maybe to send to people on DVD) but YouTube seems to be having problems with this "OGV" format that Cheese makes vids in. Does anyone know how to convert OGV videos into avi or some other format thats a little more accessible? Thanks

    You can install Avidmux to convert from ogv to mp4 or you can use VLC to save videos in formats of your choice. Make sure you have all the codecs installed.

    Don't convert.

    Just change the file name extension to ".ogg" before uploading.

    try Handbrake instead, i've tested it. seems Avidemux does really not support OGV...

    Hello???

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Youtube#Uploading
    YouTube accepts videos uploaded in most container formats, including .AVI, .MKV, .MOV, .MP4, DivX, .FLV, and .OGG.
    OGV = Ogg Video.

    Rename the file!
