    Karmic Macbook5,1. Pommed/Backlight problem

    Hi everyone!!!

I recently upgraded my macbook 5,1 from Jaunty to Karmic and followed all the guidelines on the little tweaks to make it run smoothly.

My problem is that I installed to the pommed repository but the backlight on the keyboard will only work for a few seconds after the system starts. Every time the same thing. As I log in to start the session, the keyboard is lit up. It stays like that for a little bit and then the keyboard goes dark again. I can even use the hotkeys to make it lighter or dim it down before it stops working.

Any ideas as to why this is happening? Any way to fix it?

    Thanks!!!

My experience with upgrading Linux versions is bad....I think that a fresh install is much better.

Funny thing, whenever I run the command "sudo pommed start" in the shell, the keyboard lights up again, for another minute, before it dies. Any ideas?
