    Recovery help wanted!

I have a dual boot with Windows 7 and Ubuntu...
And I am running Ubuntu 9.10....Also I recently installed KDE (kubuntu) and it was working fine.
While logging out from Ubuntu my computer froze and I cant get it to start it again...the boot selector page comes and then a bunch of errors...And I can't figure out the recovery mode since it's command line and not graphical...Please help!!!

I am running an AMD Turion 64 X2 processor with ATO Radeon graphic card...
    Thanx!

Hello, just to help get the ball rolling on helping you can you share more details about what the errors coming up are? If you can write one or two down. This info might help a lot in solving the issue.

Further, could you post more information about your computer as well?

And a question, are you able to boot into a live cd/usb?

    Well the error says

[ 1. 451742] Kernel panic - not syncing VFS : Unable to mount root fs on unknown - block (8,3)

Or that's as close as it can get.

And my computer is a Gateway M- 1631U. As I already said its an AMD Turion 64 X2 with an ATI Raedon graphics card. It originally ran Windows Vista but I was eligible for a free upgrade and I upgraded it to Windows 7. Then installed Ubuntu and added KDE.
