I recently brought a Sony laptop VPCCW16FG with Nvidia graphics card GeForce GT 230M. I tried installing recent driver release 190.42 from Nvidia. It lists the hardware as supported.
But when i reboot the machine with the driver installed after initial loding it doesnt even go to the login screen.
You get a blanc screen. But you can hear the login sound.
I logged in single user recovery mode. I uninstalled the graphics driver. I am now
able to login without accelerated graphics.
I have pasted my xorg.conf file contents below.
