Problem with dragging and dropping tracks from a CD in RhythmBox

i'm using RhythmBox to manage my audio files, largely because it's similar to iTunes (which I'm used to). Earlier today I copied some tracks from a CD by dragging them to the Music library and dropping them there.
now I'm trying it again, and every time I get the error message "Error transferring track. Not a directory". When I click on the Music library, all my tracks appear, and they're playable. The music library is mounted on a NAS disk as smb://nasac33ea/public/My Music/iTunes/iTunes Music.

I've got Rhythmbox 0.12.5 and Ubunti 9.10, and I can't think of anything I might have done between doing it successfully and getting this error message.

What are the format of the files on the CD?

Re: Problem with dragging and dropping tracks from a CD in RhythmBox

Hmm, decided to see if I could find an answer to this problem on the boards, and the only thing that comes up is a post, by me, two years ago, exactly the same problem with different versions of RhythmBox and Ubuntu.

I'm still having the same problem, intermittently. Specific CDs bring up this message when I try to drag and drop tracks to my music library. These are commercial CDs, in whatever format CDs you buy from a shop are in. If a CD gives this error message once, it will always give it. It doesn't seem to be copy protection, as I can still copy it to a blank CD with a CD copying app. Most CDs will transfer without a problem.

    Any ideas out there?

Actually, I've just checked, and I'm on RhythmBox 0.12.8, but still the same version of Ubuntu.

Gaah! Confusing my join date with the reply date, actually the original post was only six months ago. I thought I was on the Hardy Heron two years ago. Marking this as closed/solved, and posting a new, more coherent question!
