Segmetation fault

I can't open diffrent aplications... for example blender...
when o try to open it from terminal i just get this message...

altair@altair-laptop:~$ blender
Compiled with Python version 2.6.4rc2.
Checking for installed Python... got it!

i've got the same message with program stellarium.
I am running latest version of ubuntu, 3 days old instalation.
My graphic card (ATI mobility radeon 7500) was alredy runinng ubuntu with no problems before.

boot a cdrom install disc and run memtest86 to check for bad memory.
I was getting a seg fault in firefox when running flash movies off hulu and i had a bad stick
