How can I make it so that cairo dock doesn't show me notifications for empathy both via dialogs and via icon animation? It's very annoying to see a dialog come up in the middle of doing something when my friend messages me.

Once again, I found it myself.
Configuration > Behaviour > Taskbar > Interaction
Deselect "Signal the applications demanding your attention with a dialog bubble?"
and
Blank "Signal the applications demanding your attention with an animation?"
