just the server names (eg: imap.aol.com/smtp.aol.com) and the encryption type (eg:ssl) should be enough for evolution. If not ask ISP or google ISP's details. If you dont have encryption type right connection will fail.

    Thanks MATT

I got to know the Mistake i was doing. I created a pop account in evolution with <mymailid>@somemail.com. But configuring the mail option I had set all the server names proper, but the user name i just gave <mymailid>, i dint give the entire id<mymailid>@somemail.com, because of which incoming and outgoing mails are giving errors.

Thanks once again, for helping me out.
