    Re: *Neon* Google Chrome Icon

Try this, I just made it with Inkscape and this .svg image from deviantART: http://statik-04.deviantart.com/art/...hrome-97052913

    some quickly made neon ones:

    72pixels:

    48pixels:

    32pixels:

    24pixels:

..... with Inkscape and an .svg image you can modify icons very easily. Then to transform them into .png form I use this command:

    Code:
    for i in *.svg; do inkscape -f "$i" -e "$i.png" -w48 -h48; done

just change the -w and -h (width and height) to any pixel size.

As for conky stats, you could always make 2 different scripts for either side of your computer, this is how mine looks (with a tiling embedded terminal in the middle using MPD/ncmpcpp, htop, and midnight commander):

I like those side panels, but I'll have to learn about scripts first I think. As for the icon, it looks great but it seems a little too transparent. Here's how it looks next to the one I made.

Try these new ones I made. (I downloaded the cairo-dock icons and tried to make them similar)

    128pixel-wide version:

    128pixel-thin version:

Very good, sir! Thanks for putting so much time into it

If you feel like it, I could use some neon versions of a few others...

    oh and Amarok =p

I don't want to sound like a moocher haha, I'm also trying to get better at using Gimp. It's been a long time since I've even used photoshop. I'll post any decent looking ones I come up with.

There's an amateur attempt at a neon Hulu Desktop logo

I'll mess around with a few more of these icons. I'm also going to redo the google chrome icon one more time to make it even with the others. (I don't have cairo-dock installed so I'm using your screenshots to judge the placement of the icon)

You should install the app called "Inkscape" to make icons (it should be in synaptic). Then take the Inkscape tutorial that it comes with (super easy to learn what you need to know).

Then download a ".svg" image for the icon you want. I found this way works for me:

First, google search for the logo: "google earth logo .svg"

This should give you a wiki page here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Google_Earth.svg

Secondly, right click the Google_Earth.svg image and select "Copy Link Location" from the drop down menu.

Next open a Terminal and download that .svg using the wget command:

    Code:
    wget http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e9/Google_Earth.svg
Now you can open the Google_Earth.svg using "Inkscape" and you'll find it easy to change the appearance of most .svg images.

I usually modify all of my icon packs by redoing the scalable icons and then transforming them into .png sizes for 48, 32, 24, 22, and 16 pixel sizes.

I'm working on the skype, hulu, and google earth icons right now, what is the other one with the barbed wire?

Nice work on the neon icons though, can't wait to see all of them packaged up for use by us.

There's my 2nd attempt at Hulu. I'm learning Gimp for now, I haven't found anything that it can't do yet.

Oh and the blue icon with barbed wire is Frostwire.
