No driver for Canon PIXMA iP1800 printer

I'm running the spiffy new version of Ubuntu 9.10 and I've been looking everywhere for a driver for my Canon Pixma iP1800 The only thing I've been able to find is..... More people just as confused as I am looking for this darn driver!

Bought the thing a year and a half ago, hasn't even been out of the box until about a week ago. Don't tell me the stupid thing's obsolete already!

Which does not exist any longer. Somehow it has been taken out of service. Best bet so far seems to be the following link:
