I've noticed that wakeup from suspend behaves differently depending on whether I activate suspend by going to System > Shut Down > Suspend, or whether it is activated by the Gnome power manager.
If I activate suspend manually, I am presented with a password dialog on wakeup, and the computer automatically reconnects to the wireless network. If suspend is activated by the Gnome power manager, I don't get the password dialog on wakeup, and the computer (often) doesn't reconnect to wireless.
Does anyone know if this is this a feature controllable by a setting? A known bug? Something else? I've searched the bug lists but haven't found anything.
I am using Intrepid on a Dell Latitude D400. I have the screen saver set to go on after 5 minutes, and screen blanking and suspend to occur after 10 minutes. I have also tried setting the screen blanking to longer than 10 minutes, but the result is the same.
