Well, 64-bit Kubuntu was a whole bunch of fail for me. I have the 32 bit version installed now and I am liking it. It was a smoother upgrade for me than Intrepid -> Jaunty.
I just wish I knew why the 64-bit LiveCD won't work on my Dell XPS 630i (with Core 2 Quad).
Anyway, the 32 bit version is working just fine on both netbook and desktop systems now.
I had a quick look earlier but haven't installed it "for real" yet. My initial impression is that although there are some nice touches, I'm going to have to do some troubleshooting to get it to work well with my hardware: I'm not looking forward to this.
Realisticly though, it's early days yet, and with the range of different hardware that forum users have, it's amazing that any release works as well as it does, and it's almost inevitable that some of us might experience some hiccups.
On the plus side, there are some positive reports lurking in the forums.

it seems like everyone only has problems when they upgrade, but everyone else who did a fresh install likes it

I have had a very positive experience with 9.10. Runs great , had no problems upgrading from 9.04.
I like it better than the others.
So far, I liked 9.04 the best.
I see the first lot of updates are comming in for karmic as I've just done a sudo apt-get upgrade & got some so it's going to get better now, hope they have fixed some things with these & if anybody wants to know what they were
