Great idea. I take it could be ported to maemo. I am looking at getting a maemo phone such as the n900

I would be interested. I just tried out gnucash and I think it will be my new budgeting tool (I was
previously using a simple OO.o spreadsheet and google docs).
This would be excellent! You have my attention! If you would like a donation to help fund the work on such a project, lemme know!
I've also been thinking of creating this application, and have been playing around with the Android SDK in hopes of getting the idea off the ground.
Pardon my asking, but what's your progress?
Thanks
Yes! I'm about to kick the Quicken habit and try out GnuCash; assuming that's the ticket, I'd kick in some support as well.
If you torture data hard enough, they will confess to anything
I found this thread just after searching for gnucash for android. I'm craving to be able to see and edit my gnucash data from my Nexus One.
Yes, yes, yes. I'd pay for this. I've just been using a spreadsheet and want to move to the automation of gnucash. But it's a huge advantage to have a droid connection. Simple requests:
1) Can enter transactions easily into droid.
2) Can see budget consumption on droid
I'd be satisfied with a simple app that couldn't do any computation at all - just allow input, pass that to the desktop gnucash, and then display the output data that gnucash passed back.
I would rather have them integrate Jgnash - much better user interface and much smaller footprint than Gnucash.
I know I am a crank about this - but if I you are going to do it - do it with a better personal finance program than GnuCash.

Most definitely! And I'll bet that there would be 1000s of interested parties once this became available and publisised! Great idea!
And I'll fully support any other Ubuntu/Android integration too!
