Question What about the ASUS G1SN and ubuntu 9.10?

    Hi Ubuntu Community.
I have been reading this post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=950014
I have checked ASUS website, obviously they will never update their bios.
So I am wondering if Ubuntu 9.10 will include the "patch" to make it work easily or no.
I am not a super power user. I know that so far if I spend a full evening on it I am going to get it right, but it would be so much easier and cleaner for me just to wait the next release (this week I think).
    Thanks

I'm quite interested in this issue too. It's really annoying having to patch the kernel. Has anyone tested Karmic with g1sn yet?

I just tried activating the nvidia-driver (and "sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart") with Karmic Koala live-cd. Guest what I get hardware acceleration and max resolution (1680x1050).

Yes this is on Asus g1sn Way to go Ubuntu!

Cool loopingz. After installation I just had a little problem. X wouldn't start (screen just flashes continuesly). So I booted in recovery-mode and downloaded and installed newest driver from Nvidia.com (190.42). After that no problems
