    Removing Open Office, any downsides?

I was very annoyed at the fact that I had like 20 options for spell checking in my FF so I decided to remove Open Office. As you can see from my thread I made a mess for obsessing about this detail.

I was wondering if there are any downsides to not having OO. Language Support is asking me to re-install everything again. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Apart from not having an office suite I doubt their would be any problems uninstalling OpenOffice... Language support can be ignored...

No, it shouldn't be a problem, though I honestly don't see why you'd want to.

Apart from the language support nothing that you have to worry.
Try using Xubuntu as a base - it installs Abiword by default and is a nice base for the Ubuntu customization kit. (That's at least what I did to kick out the heavyweights like OO)

    hope that helps,

Thanks to all the replies. I didn't really liked OO 3. Gonna try Gnumeric and Abiword. I need something snappy and responsive.
