I have tried to run a Live Ubuntu (ver 9.04) on my Acer 6935G laptop to determine compatibility. Unfortunately everytime I attempt to do that, it drops me to a Busy Box shell with no error message.

I tried the solution suggested for those with Intel D940 motherboards and waited for a couple of minutes before typing the 'exit command. It then gave me the following message:

cp: cannot create 'root/var/log/' No such file or directory
mount:mounting dev/ on/root/dev failed
mount: mounting/sys on/root/sys failed
mount:mounting/proc on/root/proc failed
Target filesystem does not have /sbin/init. No init found try passing init=bootarg

If I retry the 'exit' command the laptop just hangs up at the command prompt.

The laptop is an Acer 6935G Core Duo 8400, with a GeForce 9600 GT and 4 Gb of Ram. Is it just incompatible with Ubuntu or is there anything else I can try?

Thank you in advance for your time and input.
