Hello, just bought a new lappy: Gateway NV5214u. I tried Jaunty 64.. but honestly... worked terribly. The display driver would not upgrade flrgx... so I went and burned a Hardy live and put that on. The proprietary driver worked with a click and a shutdown, but my wireless is not even present. Wireless is kind of a big deal on a laptop.. No? Anyway I've tried madwifi-tools with no avail, and here is the output of lspci:

Anyway, I'm sure someone much smarter then me can figure this out. By the way, wireless worked in Jaunty, but was very weak for an N not more then 50 feet away.
