Typical Dell...or not?

Hello team(forums team that is!) I've got a Dell Dimension E521 Desktop with a AMD Athalon 64 X2 Dual Core 3600+ processor and when trying to install from the Ubuntu Live CD I get the error of, "MP-BIOS bug: 8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC." And there is some other errors which pop up but I can't catch. I know that this is a common problem but I can't seem to get a fix even with checking "NOAPIC". Any help is appreciated. NOTE: I'm going to try using Ubuntu Karmic to see if the new kernel version works. Will post results.
