Problem Booting ubuntu up

Ok well i put Ubuntu onto a CD and put it in and it worked just fine.


Then i chose the option to use it without any modifications to my computer.

and then it showed the loading screen for Ubuntu and then it started showing all these flashes up and down of colors, like some kind of error, i tried it twice, two different cd's, And im brand new to Ubuntu and i have no idea of anything except how to put it in


Please help!

That sounds like a bad burn. Please do a check sum on the download and when you burn the iso use the slowest speed possible to avoid any errors.

Well my brother burned one also and i did the same thing as him and it worked for him but not for me.

What kind of Video card are you using? Give us the system specs please. Maybe we can help from there.

Uhmm well im not that technical at all but i was able to find this in my computer, hope it helps:


AMD Athlon XP 3000+

2.10 GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM
