Ok , I do a little graphics.. here is a five min. job as an Idea

I created the sunflower from scratch.. I think it turned out good....

Here's one that is probably too obvious, incorporating the center of the State Seal....

Another idea might be to seek permission from a Kansas artist like Stan Herd to crop some of his (crop) art into a logo.

I like that except I'm afraid people will get lost in the color and varity within it. I have a short attention span so who knows, it may not distract other people.
