A while back, I used to play an online java based game called "runescape". When I started, my friend recommended "dragos" for me. Unfortunately, the name was taken. The automatic renaming system recommended 240 as a possible option. So I picked it, so dragos and 240 because just dragos wasn't available. Ever since, it's been my primary username for almost everything.

Back in the good old days of AOL, around 1995 or so, my dad made account names for everyone in my family. We were all <firstname>Burg, as burg is the last part of our last name. EricBurg was already taken (Eric is my first name), so he used EDavidBurg instead (David is my middle name). I've kept it ever since.

I don't care, I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me.
Interesting reading indeed.
Mine is a contraction of my business name when I was a self employed computer geek.
Kinda dull in comparison ain't it ??
When I was 11, I coded for a MOO (Mud(Multi-User Dungeon) Objective Oriented), or a text based game. I coded a command for a star trek ship I built, when you typed warp 3 to <place>, it would do like:
Kirk says, "Prepare for warp speed in 3..."
Kirk says, "2"
1 second later.
Kirk says, "1"
The ship enters warp speed.
Or something like that, been a while. People complained about the wait, so I added the possibility to type "warp now" for immediate transport. Thus, my name was born.

A few years ago when I first started playing WoW, my roommate and I started on the alliance side. One day we decided to switch to the horde and find his brother and follow him around and try to annoy him as much as possible with out him finding out it was us. Eventually we ended up liking the horde so much that we switched permanently. Grukmuck was the name that I gave my troll shaman. It is now the name I use for almost everything: games, usernames, alternate email adresses and so forth. Sometimes I shorten it to just Gruk. So if you're ever playing a game online and run across someone named gruk, or grukmuck there's a pretty good chance its me, because I haven't seen too many people use it before. Hopefully I dont see it being used, that would just irritate the pants off me.
