Unhappy Correcting file types of mp3s

While coming up with a method to sync music on my computer to my mp3 player using Conduit, I noticed that all the .mp3s had their type as reported by gnome changed to "plain text document". They open just fine when I reassociated them with rhythmbox but the problem is that now all plain texts open in rhythmbox.

I'd very much like to return to the original and proper file types so that they are the type they should be. These mp3s should be reported of their real type mp3.

Google has been fruitless, any ideas?
    Thanks in advance

Might be the same problem reported here: Nautilus thinks every file is a plain text document. Check out the suggested fix to see if it works for you.

Thanks! I'll just wait for the updates to come down the chute since the manual way didn't seem to clear it for me.
