I was about to say something about running gdmsetup to add it to GDM, but it sounds like you beat me to it.

do you think it would be easier to use the usermod command instead to add the user to the audio group?

usermod -a -G audio username

When I try to update my sources list, I get this error:

Hello, I have a number of problems:

First, how can remove all hard drives or partitions on the desktop without removing all the icons?

Second: I installed lxpanel and tint2, work but will not let me maximize windows how can I can fix this?

Third and last: I have as a file manager thunar but when I close it throws me an error message.
