One of the things I missed about KDE was separate wallpaper per desktop. And Kwin's desktop grid is a great replacement for Compiz Expo.
Hey guys, thanks for the praise. We will start with the panel, first off it is just one panel. I used a full screen width background that is transparent in the center, and then I disabled the panels shadow. After that I patched the window picker applet and notification area applet to have more padding, and to use icons 3px smaller than the panel size. I also made the handles transparent.
As for the globalmenu, someone mentioned earlier that banshee's compact mode does have any menus and they were correct. So just imagine a full menu bar there.
Now onto the my theme, getting nautilus to look like that is tricky but you can use the code/images from the Elementary gtk theme to implement this in any theme. My theme is Nodoka Squared with font modifications, toolbar changes, and highlight fixes. I will look into putting it on gnome-look as soon as I get a chance to work out the licensing issues.
edit: Oh this is Karmic by the way, my Gutsy Gibbon Testing note is not to be believed.
