    cant install ubuntu in windows

    I tried installing ubuntu withing windows xp sp3, and get this some permission denied, see log ..... something.. wrror.

    How can i install it pl withing windows.

    Please, speak proper English because now I don't know what you really mean.

    1. Do you want an install next to Windows? or
    2. Do you want an install within Widows. For that, you will have to use wubi.

    For an install next to windows you will have to use partition magic or Gparted Live cd.

    yes the second one is the one i am talking about. I have the installer cd of ubuntu 9.04 , it installs fine but in the end gives error.

    The full error and any related log would be useful.

    As it seems to be complaining about permissions, ensure you are installing with an Administrator account instead of a Limited one. You can check whether your user account is Admin/Limited by looking in Control Panel -> Users -> YourUserName

    Don't use the installer cd but use the file you can download from this webpage:

    http://wubi-installer.org/

    It is an .exe file and that means you can run it and install it exactly the same way you install other Windows programs.
