After having problems with a keylogger i formatted my HDD and booted into a Ubuntu live cd. The installer kept crashing at about 90%, blaming the cd, so I chucked it on a usb and tried to install from that but i kept getting a buffer error. I am now posting from the ubuntu live cd and have the iso on a usb, I was wondering what my other installation options are?

redownload iso and burn at slowest speed possible. You can install via usb, sd card, flash, cd or net! also please explain steps taken prior to trying to install...did you defrag hdd before trying livecd..etc etc

Tbh, i didnt take any steps prior to install, just reset my computer and booted into linux. At first I tried using a cd (burnt at the slowest speed possible) and when that failed I made a bootable usb using a .iso I had on another usb. Whenever I try to install I recieve an Input/Output error at about which it blames on a dodgy cd or dodgy HDD.

I/O error probably does mean a faulty cd or hdd! you can re-burn iso or run some test on hdd to check!
