Touchpad tap - delay - Toshiba Laptop

Hi,

First posting on these forums, so do be gentle with me!

Toshiba Satellite Pro P300 laptop, dual boot - Ubuntu 9.10/Windows 7

The Touchpad behaves fine on Windows 7, and is also fine under Ubuntu with one exception: when I tap on the pad (to replicate a mouse click), there's a delay of perhaps half a second before anything happens. I know it's not much, but it's getting quite irritating & I'd love to know how I can fix it. Does anyone know how I can do this?

I am noticing this too on my Del Inspiron, The OS runs smoothly except a slight but annoying delay when I tap to click. Is there any way around this? thanks very much. Cheers.
