    I think I found the 10.04 netbook release. http://releases.ubuntu.com/releases/...tbook-i386.iso

Nice. I assumed there wasn't one yet because it wasn't listed on Distrowatch.

Yeah it wasn't listed on Ubuntu's page either. I browsed the folder containing all the releases and found it

Unfortunately, this did not work for me.

Installing the b43 driver from Harware Drivers DID work however on 10.04

[EDIT] - Nevermind. After a few reboots, it stopped working again

Ok I checked dmesg and I have hundreds of lines that say "b43-phy0 ERROR: Fatal DMA error: 0x00000000 0x00000000 0x00000000 0x00000000 0x00000000 0x00000000"

Hi there. I'm having the same issue.
    Code:
    lspci -nn |grep Broadcom
    04:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g [14e4:4315] (rev 01)
Trying with B43 driver I get the same errors in dmesg. I currently have Lucid installed with kernel
    Code:
    uname -a
    Linux Laptop 2.6.32-20-generic #29-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 9 20:35:00 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I didn't have any luck yet. I tried to install linux-backports-modules-wireless-2.6.32.20-generic via synaptic which should provide compat-wireless linux modules, but still no luck. Did anyone of you made some progress?

From the first post I suppose that a possible solution is to install the files from
    http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.33/

I tried the 2.6.33 kernel as suggested, but no luck in my case, my router gets detected and also connection shows as established, but can't browse the web with it. There are still errors
    Code:

Re: HOWTO: Use b43 driver with 14e4:4315 (Broadcom bcm4312 rev 01)

I followed this tutorial on my Dell mini 10v running backtrack, and after some fiddling and help from my dad (who nows linux alot better than I do!) I eventually got to the end.

iwconfig needs detects the card, but when I enable it, or start networking anything to do with the wirless is very laggy and sometimes ifconfig just doesn't report back at all.
on boot I had all the b43 errors, so I did the modprobe -r b43, modprobe b43 but still very laggy. I checked dmesg and it had all those errors still and also said there was an error with the firmware and said a website to go back and download it again.

I didn't have my netbook with me to copy exactly what it says, but this is the gist of it. I do have it nearby if any other info is needed.

    Thanks for your help

Same problem for me. I can detect APs and can even connect to them, but I do not actually have internet access
