The New Report Post buttons/Icons are too confusing! Please Help!

The New Report Post buttons/Icon are too confusing!

Anyway to change them back to the easy to use and easy to understand single icon with mouse over?

The new icon/text has too much ambiguity and I have no idea how to use them!

If it wasn't broke why fix it?

Before there was a very simple to use and understand icon that had a very simple mouse over that explained what it was for; to report a post.

Now there is not only an icon but also a "report abuse" text but when you mouse over them, they both say exactly the same thing "Report Post"; isn't this being a bit too superlative?

If you guys plan to keep it this new and annoying way can someone please post a How-To use this new superlative system and what each one is meant to mean and how to properly use them.

In advance I am not trying to be Quip or funny I am just very, very confused and would appreciate any help.

The text and the exclamation point are part of the same picture. There's only one thing to click.

Okay Thanks to both of you! I just found the new way very, very confusing and ambiguous.

I miss the old simple to understand and simple to use way, single icon with a mouse over to explain it.

I guess this one is just as simple to use but the superlative icon/text with two separate mouse overs that say the same thing (at least the mouse-overs have two separate placements mimicking two separate buttons: one icon button & one text button)make it too ridiculous to simply understand and use.

Yet there is a reason for everything I guess, Thanks for explaining the new system.

I'll get used to it in a week or two.

LOL!...I guess what I found most confusing was the words "Report Abuse" I was wondering what exactly falls under the term "Report Abuse", does it mean the same as "Report Post"? What defines appropriate 'abuse' to report?

Perhaps it would be nice to post a How-To use guide for this new "Report Abuse" term?

You're reading too much into it, click the button and it is the same as it was to before.

Ahhh Okay, so it has no new meaning, just same old button with a new outfit on?

EDIT: I think what happened here is before you had an easy to understand icon that was simply explained upon mouse-over.

What makes the new way confusing is when you have people from a world-wide audience where English is not their native language come here; when you add the different text to it, it also adds a third variable and thus a possible new meaning(s) whether intended or not. The new system may be great for native English speakers but adds a whole new layer of ambiguity and complexity for others, but now you have this thread to point people to when they do not fully understand. Again, the old way was so much more simple to understand and less ambiguous but since this predominantly is an English language forum it will make it easier for native English speakers.

It may have been better to make the text the same as the mouse-over: "Report Post" and then there would be no confusion. If you changed "Report Abuse" to "Report Post" then you could eliminate the mouse-over text completely or you could leave it with the "Report Abuse" text and eliminate the "Report Post" mouse-over and remove any new ambiguity and confusion.

Just my 2 cents.
