kopete-KDE4 configuration trouble.

hi
i am using ubuntu Hardy===>
i today installed Kopete-KDE4

but no i am facing a big trouble.

when i ran kopete and went to Settings>Configure

i got the configuration window.
but it was blank except for the Help, Ok , Aply and cancel buttons.

it was not showing any other options.

because of this i can't set up accounts or any other settings.

pleas help me..friends.

The state of kde4 applications in hardy was pretty raw, if you're going to stick with hardy I'd recommend using the KDE3 version of kopete. (I believe it's just "kopete" in the repos).

the KDE3 versions of kopete is no longer supported by yahoo.

i was using it till 3 days before ,which was when i got the emssage from yahoo its no longer supported.

can someone please help me correct this.

Actually you can still use Kopete in Hardy (the default KDE 3.5.10 version) for a while, but it may stop working at some point soon.

I have been spending some time building the KDE 4.3.1 version of Kopete on Hardy, which does include a fix for this, and is now working quite well. However, this took a couple of days to sort out and is not that easy to distribute, or to install.

The simplest 'fix', although quite a lot more work, is to upgrade to Jaunty and use the jaunty-proposed repository - see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...rk/+bug/391763 for the Ubuntu Jaunty bug. There don't seem to be plans to fix in Hardy, but you might want to comment on that bug to say it's in Hardy as well.
