After doing some research it appears that the Union Jack (or the flag posted and removed) was never the confederate flag or any one of the flags of the Confederate States of America.
It was a CSA Navy flag only.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flags_o...tes_of_AmericaThe Second Confederate Navy Jack is a rectangular precursor of the battle flag, usually about 5×3 feet.
