Hi,

Recently, I've got Hitachi HV565E (or DZ-HV565E) and it supports webcam mode. I connected it to my wife's laptop running Windows XP Pro and the camcoder works as webcam out of the box. I didn't have to install any extra drivers to get it working.

I use Ubuntu 9.04 and 9.10 myself, so I wondered if it would be possible to make the camcoder working with Linux in webcam mode. I connected using USB cable and tried to receive any signal using different webcam/tv software but without any success.

Unfortunately, I don't have any details about CMOS sensor of this camcoder, so I could not find and fit any existing drivers.

Has anyone tried to solve it? Any chances to make it working?

Best regards,
Mateusz
