    Re: Asus T91 linux installation

This worked liked a charm for me today on my t91 in 10.04 with default touchscreen drivers... with only one slight thing to look out for in your instructions.

My "IDEACOM IDC 6680" was actually "IDEACOM IDC 6680" with two spaces between IDEACOM and IDC. A quick check of the /var/log/Xorg.0.log in gedit and a search for IDEACOM verified that. Thanks!

Are you saying that Lucid Lynx is working on your T91 ?
I though the gma drivers didn't exist for Xorg 1.7, shipped with 10.04 ?

They exist now, although there still a bit experimental.

Just wish I could get my T91MT touchscreen working

The normal T91 apparently works fine though.

Good news. I'll try as soon as I have a moment.

    Re: Asus T91 linux installation

I tried using the default driver and manually calibrating the screen and came across an interesting problem. When I tap the screen in one location and pick up the pen and tap another spot on the screen, it doesn't 'lift' the pen tip. In other words, it draws a line between the two points. Is there something in xinput that I need to set?

    Thanks

Not to mention, should I have 2 copies of IDEACOM IDC 6680 in xinput list?

    Code:
⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2	[master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4	[slave pointer (2)]
    ⎜ ↳ IDEACOM IDC 6680 id=8	[slave pointer (2)]
    ⎜ ↳ IDEACOM IDC 6680 id=9	[slave pointer (2)]
    ⎜ ↳ SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad id=13	[slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ Macintosh mouse button emulation id=14	[slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3	[master keyboard (2)]
↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5	[slave keyboard (3)]
        ↳ Power Button id=6	[slave keyboard (3)]
        ↳ Sleep Button id=7	[slave keyboard (3)]
        ↳ USB 2.0 Camera id=10	[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Asus EeePC extra buttons id=11	[slave keyboard (3)]

hey, i had a question. It seems that simply disabling the right click option has ended the hard-freezes.

I'm having a new unrelated problem, and was wondering if it was universal. I just installed skype, and fixed the audio. I am, however, totally unable to see the people i'm chatting with. Is this solvable? thanks alot.

Mousetweaks can't be the reason for me, since I didn't even have it installed. I tried with it installed (just to be sure) and right click disabled and didn't change either.
    Some ideas about the freezes.
Does somebody else get "report_id 10 received" in dmesg when using the touch screen? When i use it, I get a good hundreds of them within only 1 second.

When it freezes, I can still ssh into the machine and stop X, but the display will stay the way it was when the computer froze. Does that mean that the poulsbo driver is to blame?

Anyone have any update on the freezing/crashing issues? I'm going to upgrade Jolicloud 1.0 today and see if the touchscreen support for the T91 has improved. Supposed to work out of the box. If not, before I go through a 4th OS install (XP then Lubuntu then Jolicloud then theoretically Ubuntu or Kubuntu), I want to be fairly certain it will not crash every few minutes.

Best of luck Harrison! Please post what you find about jolicloud 1.0!
I even went back to 9.10 as there were less extraneous minor glitches in it, so yeah, its still freezing like crazy.
