    Vista and Wubi

Yes, I know everybody hates vista but such is life..

I downloaded the wubi 9.04. My machine is a 64 bit Intel box.

I go to run wubi.exe and I get an immediate "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\hardisk2\DR2".

If I hit Cancel enough times (somewhere between 7 and 20 times) the box goes away and I get the Wubi installer. I fill every thing out, hit "Installl" and get the no disk error again and I get rid of it in the same way.

The download begins of Ubuntu 9.04 but never completes - it freezes and I have fairly decent DSL bandwidth. I figured it's usually the server but I have tried this repeatedly over the past 2 days. It usually has a download estimate time of 12 or 11 hours but will freeze in about 3.

    Any insights would be appreciated.

You can download Ubuntu 9.04 iso (CD image) and put it in the folder Wubi is in. So isntead of downloading, it'll just use the iso.

You can also burn that iso to a CD and run it, because it also comes with Wubi.
