    BIOS noob question

I'm going to sound like a noob here, but where is the BIOS located on a computer? Is it on a partition of the Hardrive, or is it in some internal memory in the computer?

The BIOS software is stored on a chip soldered to the motherboard, usually flash memory.
100 buckets of bits on the bus,
    100 buckets of bits,
Take one down, short it to ground,
FF buckets of bits on the bus.

No problem, as im a noob as well heh... but ....

The BIOS is a ROM (Read only memory) Chip located physically on the motherboard itself... do you want to upgrade it or did you just ask out of curiosity?
