OS freezes with caps lock and num lock flash

dear all,
thank you for your time in advance, i need your help on this one.

the case is as following:
ubuntu randomly freezes on me giving the caps lock and num lock flashes.

firefox randomly crashes, even opera does.

i have an Nvidia card and i installed its drivers and they are in use, i also have an LG flatron screen which on windows has an installation CD, and can't find its drivers on linux based systems, is this the problem ???


please, i can't trust doing anything on my box anymore. not stable at all, help.

Im getting the same issue with Ubuntu 8.04.
Is it an OS bug?

that means the kernel crashed.
