Nvidia GEFORCE 7300 Le Driver issue

Currently i am running Xp on my dell dimension 9200 ive got an issue with updateing the driver for my GEFORCE 7300 le graphics card.
every time i install the update and restart it gets to the xp startup screen and sits there forever,(literly, i left it for almost the whole day. did nothing). ive managed to reboot my computer back to its original status but i still have issues playing games.(Half life 2, TF2, ect)
its really geting on my nerves. all the lag and grapics issues. it make me want to rip my hair out.
can somone help?

the 7300LE is a pretty crappy card for gaming (i know i have one) what drivers are you trying run? i've managed to get the drivers installed fine on my xp system. you're not running ATI tools or anything?
